We all KNOW we should drink more of it. But most of us tend to forget or fill up on other beverages with extra calories and sugar/sweeteners. Here’s the deal, as far as taking care of your mind and body, drinking water is probably the cheapest and easiest thing you can do! I recommend my clients drink HALF of their body weight in ounces of water daily. (So if you weigh 160 lbs... you should be drinking 80 oz of water.)
In case you forgot the benefits of staying hydrated with good ole water let me remind you of just a few:
💦When you wake up, drink two glasses of water before you reach for the coffee or other beverage of choice. Make your coffee the REWARD for drinking your water. Believe it or not, after doing this trick, you will start to crave water first!
💦Are you hungry or thirsty? Clinical studies have shown that 37% of people mistake hunger for thirst because thirst signals can be weak. So next time you have a hunger pain, drink a glass of water and wait 15 minutes. If you were just thirsty you will be satisfied. If you were truly hungry, your stomach will let you know.
💦Keep your favorite reusable cup full at your desk with you at work or school so you reach for it more often! I keep my favorite Yeti that holds 30 oz nearby with a big straw!
💦Drink a large glass before every meal. This will help you stay hydrated and eat less.
